Energy is becoming a scarce and costly input in the world. Oil which accounts for a sizeable portion of our energy consumption, has been making a very heavy tax on our foreign exchange resources. Other than coal, we must also find alternate resources of energy centred around solar, wind, tidal and bio-gas. An effective bio-gas programme leads to efficient use of cow dung for gas recovery and partial supplement to plant nutrient requirement. Bio-gas programme leads to improvement in rural living including rural sanitation. Conventional bio-gas digesters set up in India were predominently of the Khadi Village Industries Commission Model. Recently Janta Bio-gas plant designed by Planning Research and Action Division (PRAD) of State Planning Institute, Lucknow based on bio gas technology has proved to be comparatively more economical. Several Janta Biogas plants have been constructed in Uttar Pradesh and a few in Haryana. Now a days, the main problem before the farmers is the short supply of fertilizers. That time has gone when the farmers were totally dependent on fertilizers. Not only this that, there is shortage of fertilizers. But over and above the basic need of the land is that in addition to fertilizer the vegetable or composed manure is must in order to increase the fertility of the land and also to get good quality of crop. The second problem of farmer is the short supply of fuel. The availability of wood from forest is very less and at all if it is available then, it is cost as high that an ordinary farmer cannot afford to have. The another mode of fuel is kerosene oil, which is also seen in short supply oftenly. In addition to it the price per liter for kerosene is going on increasing day by day. So in these circumstances the only source of cheap fuel before the farmer is the dry gobar Uplay. Now the question is this that how far is it advisable and correct to use this animal waste as a fuel. In the same way it is also wise to use the Gobar as a manures in the fields. Gobar itself contains a large or big quantity of energy which can be taken out and used as a fuel. For the purpose of getting out energy from Gobar we have to get it be operated through Gobar Gas lant. In Gobar gas plant, the treatment of gobar is done and methane gas is taken out from it which can be collected in gas holder. The rest of the portion i.e. Gobar and water which is in slurry from is must more rich in terms of Nitrogen and can be used as a manure. If we get fuel as well as the manufacture for the farms it is a multipurpose and much more beneficial. So the use of gobar in this way would reduce the difficulties of daily life up to certain extent and also most useful. It is not necessary to use only gobar in gobar gas plant, we can also the urine and the human stool and urine as a raw material. After treatment in gobar gas plant the slurry thus obtained is not only it is converted into a rich and energic manure but it is smell-less and also unharmful free from all virus disease.
