Mining, Granite, Gypsum, Mica, Marble and Minerals Based Industries

We need to understand well that the process of mining refers to extraction of useful minerals from the surface of the earth (including seas). These deposits of minerals are actually of much economic interest to the miner. There are various kind of ores which are recovered by the process of mining such as those related to metals, clay, rock-salt, potash, gravel, limestone, dimension stone, and many more. Thus, we can say that mining assists in obtaining all those materials that otherwise cannot be availed by agricultural processes.

It needs to be well noted and understood that mining also insists in extraction of non-renewable sources such as even water, petroleum and natural gas. It should be well noted and understood that the hard mining processes could also create disastrous / harmful impact in the environment. Work safety and security is always a concern when modern practices of mining are taken into consideration.

When it comes to granite, mica, gypsum, marble and mineral based mining, surface mining as well as underground mining is taken into consideration. Nowadays, surface mining is much taken into consideration. The surface vegetation and dirt is much removed through surface mining. Layers of bedrock are also removed to reach buried deposits. There are many techniques applicable to surface mining. At times, landfill mining involves sites wherein the landfills are processed and excavated well.

Normally, heavy machinery is used to undertake mining processes related to all these minerals, granite gypsum, mica, marble and others. Most miners need to follow stringent rehabilitation codes as well as environmental rules to minimize the impact on environment so that there is no impact on hunan health.
There are four different types of mining:
    1. Underground mining
    2. Open surface (Pit)
    3. Placer
    4. In-Situ mining

It needs to be well understood and noted that underground mines are more expensive and reach deeper deposits. On the other hand, surface mines are used for less valuable products for mining and are more shallow. Going ahead, placer mining is used in sifting out of metals which are otherwise valuable and this is done in various environments such as beach sands, river channels and other similar environments.

It needs to be well noted and understood that mining materials are used to construct hospitals as well as roads, to generate electricity, to make computers, to make satellites, to build automobiles as well as houses. The procedure of mining is economically considered to be very important in different regions and countries.

Mining is considered to be a local source of employment and contribute much to local and regional economies. Whenever negative impacts of mining are considered for the environment, effective water treatments and ecological restoration is done so that the harmful effects are nullified altogether. It needs to be made sure that the process of mining is a mature  technology and the revolving processes are quite efficient. On the other hand, mining leads to habitat destruction, biodiversity loss, ecological imbalance as well as endangerment of species.
