The small molecule drugs are derived from biopharmaceuticals as well as chemical synthesis which include cell therapy, stem cell therapy, gene therapy, vaccines, recombinant proteins, blood products and so on. The WHO (World Health Organization) is also known to keep a big list of essential as well as important medicines.
Drug development and drug discovery are expensive as well a complex endeavors which are well undertaken by governments, scientists, academicians as well as pharmaceutical companies. It is regulated by the government as to what drugs need appropriate pricing, which one need jurisdiction as well as how drugs need to be marketed. It needs to be noted and well understood that Ayurvedic medicines constitute the oldest medical systems in India and is known to give traditional health care to patients. These treatments combine products derived from plants, animals, metal and mineral. The Ayurvedic therapies also talk about the best of diet, exercise and lifestyle. It should be well noted that some Ayurvedic medicines contain mercury, lead and arsenic in amounts that can be considered as toxic. There are many herbs and spices which are also well recommended in Ayurvedic medicine.
Ayurveda , as mentioned before, is a traditional system of giving / recommending medicines. The ultimate aim of Ayurveda is to preserve health and wellness by keeping the mind, body and spirit in absolute sync and balance so as to prevent the disease. It is important to apply a holistic approach that combines lifestyle changes, dieting as well as regularly exercising. The important herbs and spices are also the important components of this Ayurvedic approach. This in turn gives the best of digestion as well as mental health to the patients. The important herbs in Ayurveda include – Ashwagandha, Boswellia, Triphala, Brahmi, Cumin, Turmeric, Licorice root, Gotu Kola, Bitter melon, Cardamom, Cinnamon, and so on.
When herbs and spices or any other Ayurvedic medicines are used, it could have potential side effects. These adverse effects need to be well noted so that one could be well precautious in using them.
