      The lithium iron/ferro phosphate battery pack is a kind of lithium ion battery that uses the best quality of lithium iron phosphate as the cathode material. This battery pack is known to use the graphitic carbon electrode with the metallic backing at the anode. The main drawback of this battery pack is its low electrical conductivity. This battery pack is finding a variety of roles in vehicle use as it has low cost, long-term stability, low toxicity as well as well-defined performance. These batteries are known to have a good back up power and are known to be cobalt free. 

      There are various advantages associated with the use of lithium iron phosphate battery. This battery uses a lithium-ion derived chemistry and is associated with a range of advantages as well as disadvantages. The price of this battery pack is quiet reasonable. These batteries are known to depict thermal and chemical stability. Lithium is known to be an intrinsically safer cathode material than other chemicals such as manganese dioxide spinets through omission of the cobalt and other factors. When the lithium iron phosphate battery is used, it is made sure that the battery does not decompose at high temperatures. 
        
      When the lithium batteries are used, high discharge rates are needed for acceleration, longer life, lower weight. These batteries are known to be apt for using in electric cars, forklifts, bicycles and others. These batteries have an intrinsically safer cathode material that encourages thermal runaway. The oxygen atoms are known to be released more slowly. This leads to stabilization of the redox energies and promotes faster ion migration. When lithium migrates out of the cathode, there is a kind of linear expansion affecting the structural integrity of the involved cells. 

      It needs to be well noted that no lithium remains in the cathode in a fully charged battery pack. This battery pack is highly resilient during oxygen loss which leads to an exothermic reaction in other lithium cells. The lithium cells are higher to ignite in the event of mishandling during charging this battery pack. The lithium battery is noted not to decompose at high temperatures. 

      The lithium battery pack has specifications which need to be noted well. The minimum discharge voltage is 2.5V, working voltage is around 3.0 V, maximum charge voltage is 3.65, experimental conditions have fixed voltage limits of 2.0-3.65V, specific room temperature, carbon-coated aluminium current collector, and much more. This battery has many other applications that include – being used in flashlights, emergency lighting, industrial sensor systems, amateur radio equipments, radio-controlled models, portable motor driven equipments, electronic cigarettes and much more. These batteries are also used in solar powered lighting systems. 

      To well exemplify, a famous automobile company called Tesla Motors uses LFP batteries in many of its vehicles, and many other automobile companies do that too. These batteries are known to have a very constant output voltage which stays close to 3.2V during discharge until the cell is exhausted. Thus, it is important to know the applications of this battery and use it accordingly.
