Industrial Adhesives, Sealants, Glues, Gums, Wood Adhesives, Rubber Adhesive, Synthetic Adhesive, Office Paste, Polyurethane Adhesive, Leather Based Adhesive, Thermosetting Adhesive, Printing Gums, Binders, Synthetic Resin, Resins

It needs to be well noted and understood that - Industrial adhesives are chemical compounds which are organic or inorganic in nature and are used for joining of components. The products included in the list of industrial adhesives include silicone, polyurethane, hot melt, acrylic, epoxy. thermoset, and others. Most of these industrial applications have applications for fastening purposes.

Sealants are normally used as a means of protection or a barrier. These chemicals are used to exclude moisture and chemicals, liquid, gas, dust and dirt. They are normally used as a coating to protect surfaces. There are different forms of sealants such as polysulphide based sealants, urethane based sealants, acrylic based sealants and silicone based sealants. It needs to be well noted that silicone sealants can take just 24 hours to cure. However, if the sealant is thick, it may take few days to cure.

Glue is a hard gelatine which is made by boiling of hides and bones. It is normally used in solution as an adhesive as it promotes adhesion. It is used for sticking objects as well as materials together. Thus, glue can be defined as a substance that joins surfaces via a permanent or a semi-permanent bond. When glues work, there is mechanical adhesion through the surface pores which allows either of the surfaces to move freely.

Wood adhesives are many types such as polyurethane adhesives, aerosol adhesives, water-based adhesives as well as cyanoacrylate adhesives. These are used for furniture manufacturing. It requires accurate pressing when applied to furniture. These are used in manufacturing of doors, windows, stairs, door frames, joinery and other wooden furniture.

Rubber adhesives are adhesives made with a rubber base by using either synthetic rubber or natural rubber in an evaporative solvent. These adhesives are used as pressure sensitive tapes or mixtures of rubber solvent catalysts that are used to cure different places. Rubber adhesives are used for lamination, plastic tile attachment, ceramic tile attachment, carpentry, and much more.

Synthetic adhesives are made out of ethanol, acetone, water and polyvinyl acetate (PVA). Water is used to maintain the consistency of the adhesive. These adhesives include acrylics, polyvinyl methyl ether, formaldehyde compounds, polyvinyl acetate as well as polyvinyl alcohol.

Polyurethane adhesives are actually thermoplastic glues that consist of replicas of organic chain units. This glue is extremely strong and resistant to degradation. These are considered to be different as compared to adhesives discussed before. Thermosetting adhesive are actually polymers or plastics that are used as adhesives. These are known to have very high strength and depict resistance to moisture and heat. The examples of thermosetting adhesives are polyester resins and epoxy paints.

Synthetic resins are actually the resins which are produced industrially. These are viscous substances that convert into polymers which are rigid, by the process of curing. Some of these have properties similar to plant resins occurring naturally. It should be well noted that these compounds are of several classes and are manufactured by esterification of compounds which are organic in nature.
