    It needs to be well noted and understood that – throughout the history, color has almost captivated everyone. The captivation is across occasions, age groups as well as myriad cultures. Color has indeed become a significant and essential part of every culture, group and family. Every region and culture group has produced pigments and dyes as per the available resources. History has proven the existence of colors since many years now. 

    Industrial paints are actually group of emulsions consisting of different kinds of pigments which are suspended in liquid medium. These emulsions are known to be used for protective and decorative coatings. There exist contemporary coatings and paints to fulfil the requirements of various kinds of applications. We shall herewith discuss the different kinds of industrial and textured paints to have a little more understanding. 

    1) Epoxy paints – These paints are designed for industrial use and is actually a latex acrylic product. These paints are known to have a small amount of epoxy in the mix and has applications in the flooring industry. These paints are known to provide tough, protective as well as durable coating that can be maintained easily. 

    2) Primer – This referes to kind of a preparatory coating that is applied on different kinds of materials before painting. These paints ensure better adhesion, increase paint durability and provide the best kind of protection for the material that is being used for the purpose of painting. 


    3) Pigments – These paints are natural or synthetic in nature and consist of insoluble particles which are used to impart color. These paints are used to give chemical and physical property to the dry or wet film. 

    4) Enamels – This refers to a kind of paint that is hard and glossy and is used for coating the surfaces that are outdoors. These paints are subjected to variations in temperature as well as hard wear. The commercially available enamel paints are usually vitreous enamel or synthetic resins. These are completely different in composition and are available in powdered as well as paint form. 

    5) Paint Additives – are normally used to make the paints go slower and smoother. This allows levelling up of all particles so that they bond properly. 

    6) Varnishes – This refers to a clear and transparent film or hard protective coating. It is not a stain of any kind. Varnishes are known to have yellowish shade as per the manufacturing processes involved and different materials are used to manufacture it. It is available in various shades and is sold commercially. 

    7) Solvents – The solvents are normally oil based paints and are solvent based coatings containing high levels of organic compounds as compared to those in water based coatings. These compounds and solvents assist in drying as well as application of paint film. 

    Besides the above mentioned paints, there are many other different types of paints such as – Thinners, Decoratives, Poly Urea Coating, Powder Coating, Wood Primer, Fillers, Undercoats, and few more to add on. All of these kinds of patients have different formulations and characteristics which need to be noted well before their use.
