INTRODUCTION
In India the animal feed industry is of recent origin, the first animal food plant having been established in 1960. There are today as many as 14 plant in the origanised sector, besides many small fed compoundes which operate in large cities. The installed capacity for all types of feeds that can be produced in the units under organised sector in India is estimated in the neighbourhood of 630000 metric tonnes a year.
Two international Hatcheries viz the Arbor Acres and the Shaver which started their operation in India in early 1960's created a large marketed Western India.
Efficent chick starter and growing mashes aid proper development of chuks and pellets proteins, largely of vegitable origin, in the growing mesh encourages the normal development of pullets and help them to lay lower. This area fed to which when they are 24 hours old.
