A solid core wooden flush door is generally constructed with a block board core, cross bands, and veneer faces on both sides, providing strength and stability for various door applications.
In India, only a limited number of manufacturers produce doors according to Indian Standards. Along with conventional wooden flush doors, wood-plastic composites (WPCs) have emerged as an advanced composite material combining wood-based elements with polymers. WPC manufacturing involves processes such as extrusion, injection molding, compression molding, and thermoforming. Modern techniques also include additive manufacturing methods.
WPC production requires careful selection of polymers and processing conditions to prevent thermal degradation of wood fillers. Common polymers such as polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride are generally used because they can be processed within suitable temperature ranges. Since wood fibers are naturally hydrophilic, chemical and physical modification methods are important for improving composite performance. WPC products are widely used for profiles, boards, lumber, and outdoor applications, offering an alternative material solution for door frames and related products.
