Double Wall Corrugated (DWC) HDPE pipes are manufactured from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and feature a corrugated external wall with a smooth internal surface, providing enhanced strength, stiffness, hydraulic performance, and durability. These lightweight pipes are primarily used for non-pressure underground sewerage, drainage, cross drainage, pipe culverts, and rainwater harvesting applications. Their corrosion and chemical resistance, long service life, low maintenance requirements, ease of transportation, and simple installation make them suitable for a wide range of infrastructure applications.
Corrugated pipes are manufactured from various materials, including polyamide, thermoplastic elastomers, thermoplastic rubber, PTFE, HDPE, polypropylene, and PVC. HDPE is a primary material for water transportation and drainage applications. Depending on diameter, corrugated pipes are used for cable protection, drainage, sewage, stormwater management, civil engineering, conveyor systems, control shafts, and manholes. HDPE PLB ducts, incorporating a smooth silicone-coated inner layer, are also used as underground conduits for optical fiber and communication cables.
The structural design of corrugated pipes provides high mechanical resistance while retaining corrosion resistance and low weight. They generally require no external coating, painting, or cathodic protection and can withstand many chemicals. Their lightweight construction, nesting capability, flexible installation methods, and reliable sleeve or socket joints further support efficient handling and installation across infrastructure projects.
